Every three months, Babu sends 315 of our merino sleeping bags to The Nest Collective, helping ensure babies experiencing material hardship have something warm and practical to sleep in.
The Nest Collective works with social workers, midwives, nurses and community organisations across Aotearoa to provide free pēpi packs containing essentials for babies during their first year of life and beyond.
Each pack includes essentials across clothing, bedding, changing, feeding, play and safe sleep — including our 100% merino sleeping bag.

BabyStart provides comprehensive care packages filled with brand-new baby essentials to New Zealand babies experiencing challenging circumstances, at no cost to their families.
And we're incredibly proud that more than half of the products included in a BabyStart box are Babu products.

BabyStart operates on a simple idea we love: anyone can purchase a box, and for every box sold, an identical box is provided to a baby in need.

Through these partnerships alone, around 1,660 of them will receive a Babu 100% merino sleeping bag at no cost to their family.
That's almost 3% of all babies born in Aoteroa.

Babu began in New Zealand in 2002 with a simple belief: babies deserve beautifully made essentials that are comfortable, practical and made to last.
But access to those essentials isn't equal.
Our partnerships with BabyStart and The Nest Collective allow us to put the products we know and love into the hands of families who need them — helping keep babies warm, comfortable and cared for during some of their most important first months.
We don't see these donations as something separate from Babu.
They're part of what we believe our business should do.
