Choosing to go organic at a time when sourcing and working with organic cotton was new, tricky, and expensive was a challenge we're so glad we embraced.

our cotton story

Why organic cotton?

We love that our organic cotton baby clothes are softer, thicker, and smoother than most other baby brands, but that’s not the only reasons we choose GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic cotton.

GOTS is the most comprehensive organic standard that not only covers the cotton, but the whole process from ginning, spinning and any colour treatments in the form of prints or dyes. Many other standards are not this extensive. We choose GOTS because it also has employment, fair treatment and workplace standards, which we want for every family around the world.

supporting sustainability and community

Where do you source your cotton?

Our organic cotton is farmed and woven into fabric by a sustainable village cooperative in India, who we’ve worked with for over 16 years. Purchasing from the cooperative enables us to support local schools and provide essential bio ovens for cooking and heating in the village.

made well

Who makes the clothes?

All our products are designed right here in New Zealand, more often than not, on Ali's living room floor.

We work closely with a team of textile experts who bring to life the product you know and love.

The team in India who are now family, have continued to improve with us, pushing the boundaries for certification, fair trade, and GOTS registration, doing all of this while installing water recycling plants, solar power, and staff wellness programs along with the organic farm that supplies milk and organic vegetables to everyone weekly.

We are very proud of what we’ve achieved together.

the kindest organic cotton

Proudly GOTS certified

Our organic cotton is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified, meaning we follow the strictest standards for production and sustainability. It’s kinder for the planet and for people.

GOTS ensures comprehensive organic standards from ginning to dyeing, including fair treatment and workplace standards, aligning with our values for families worldwide. Cultivated without chemical herbicides or pesticides and sourcing close to the cotton's origin helps us minimise our carbon footprint, and foster a sustainable future for future generations.
