Fire Safety

This product complies with the Product Safety Standard (Children’s Nightwear and Limited Daywear Having Reduced Fire Hazard) Regulations 2016 and  Safety Standard AS/NZS 1249:2014 (Children's Nightwear and Limited Daywear having Reduced Fire Hazard).

Washing & Care

Caring for merino is easy, but important to get right!

Washing

  • Machine or hand wash at 40°C max (low spin speed for blankets)
  • Use a wool-approved liquid detergent
  • Close any zips before washing
  • Turn the garment inside out to reduce pilling
  • Place in a delicates wash bag if you have one

Avoid using laundry powder, soaking, bleaching, wringing, dry cleaning, or stain removers, as these practices can accelerate the biodegradation of Merino, causing holes.

Drying

We recommend air-drying merino. Avoid using a tumble dryer, as it can reduce the fabric's soft feel and may cause shrinkage.

Additionally, keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent any fading or discolouration.

Storing

Storing merino correctly is important to keep it safe from moths, mould, dust, and general wear and tear. Vacuum closets/drawers regularly and store with Cedar Moth Balls.

Stain removal

Never soak or bleach merino or use stain removal sprays- even if you develop a stain.

To remove stains on merino, carefully dab the area with a cloth covered in a wool-approved detergent. Follow up by washing your merino as usual and the stain should come out.

Odour removal

Merino wool's moisture-wicking properties makes it naturally odour-resistant.

Odours often vanish on their own, but if needed, air out by hanging, lay flat on a towel to rest, or hang in a steamy bathroom to refresh. The less your merino item is washed the longer it will last.

ABOUT THE FABRIC

Merino sheep produce the finest and softest wool in the world, its benefits are so great that no other fibre- natural or man-made, can match it.

We use extra fine 100% merino wool, it's nearly four times finer than the average human hair. This means it's incredibly soft against the skin and never itchy. Merino is inherently breathable and temperature regulating, keeping babies warm in cold temperatures and cooler in warm temperatures, this makes it a great year-round daily choice as well as being perfect for sleeping in. It also wicks excess moisture away from the skin, is hypoallergenic, and odour resistant, keeping skin comfortable and dry day and night. Merino wool is also an environmentally responsible choice, being a natural, renewable, and biodegradable fibre.

Our merino is Woolmark certified

The Woolmark logo shows we meet their strict performance standards for fibre content, colour fastness to light and liquid, durability, and laundry testing. Woolmark certification ensures high quality garments that are 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable, with a traceable supply chain.

Our merino is OEKO-TEX certified

The OEKO-TEX 100 Standard is a comprehensive set of criteria designed to ensure that textile products are free from harmful substances. It covers every stage of production, from raw materials to finished garments, and sets limits on the use of chemicals that could potentially pose risks to human health.

The best

I can say that this sleeping bag is my daughter’s first luxury item. It feels so soft and breathable, the quality is tangible. I know she won’t get cold or overheat when I put this on her at night. It’s worth mentioning to that Babu also has an amazing customer service and was quick to respond to my query. They were very helpful and readily came up with a solution to my concern. 10/10. Keep it up!

PS do you have merino clothing for parents? 😅

Babu sleeping bag

My niece in Australia’s was thrilled to received the Babu sleeping bag for her new son. They loved the colour and as they had one previously for their eldest child know how useful it is going to be.

A wonderful gift! Thank you for the review Liz :)

Merino sleeping bag

We were lucky to have received a 2nd hand one from a friend and our son is so comfortable and warm (but doesn’t overheat) in this, we decided to buy a 2nd bag. The new versions also have the addition of a gap so you can slot them in a pram or seat which is an amazing design. It’s perfect and will fit for a long time so well worth the buy. It washes well and doesn’t shrink or pull, high quality. Don’t think twice, buy this #noregratz

Amazing! Thank you Dee
